Construction Office Trailers, Large & Small!

2019-11-04T20:28:17+00:00

A bird’s eye view of three workers with their hands on a cluttered wooden table with a blueprint spread out under their hands and several rolled up scrolls, a blue hard-hat, and a laptop computer also displayed. Beneath them all is a checkered green rug.

Oftentimes, a good workspace can be the difference between meetings that work… and those that don’t.  Today’s prefab offices are versatile and come with an assortment of interior options. No matter the job, big or small, these mobile offices become the central hub of operations for engineers, managers, workers, and clients to meet.

Construction sites

Having a portable office while building commercial facilities, medical clinics, shopping centers, or educational buildings makes private, comfortable, and secure meetings a reality on construction sites. In the ever-changing world of construction projects, everything from flash-meetings to scheduled appointments with regional managers can be handled by Aries’ versatile construction office trailers that give engineers a chance to do their best work or for agents to wine and dine clients in spaces that inspire confidence and tranquility.

Small and large projects

For small projects, worker engagement improves as managers and workers come together in climate-controlled environments for a meeting, lunch, or to share a cup of coffee.

For larger projects, an interconnected system of modular offices can include ample conference rooms with Wi-Fi-connectivity and projectors. This enables on-site managers to efficiently conduct online meetings with anyone in their company.

Long-term projects or remote living during construction

Today’s prefab offices can include a wide array of amenities designed for long-term projects or remote living. These include showers, locker rooms, bathrooms, living spaces, and cafeterias. Aries even offers staffed living spaces that include a restaurant and security staff.

Clients and on-site offices

For many construction companies, workspaces double as presentation rooms and clients’ perception of the business can be shaped by their experience in the on-site meeting rooms. Take, for example, the fashionable realtor offices where agents sit down for coffee with clients on-site as they review contracts or real estate offers.

An office with wide windows and a large flat-screen TV, a man in a grey button up shirt with a tie and blue jacket shakes the hand of a woman with black glasses, a white blouse and curly hair as three other people dressed professionally look on.

Best of all, prefab construction offices can be transferred around from project to project and their set up is minimally invasive without sacrificing on quality.

For these reasons, among others, mobile office trailers on construction sites continue to be in high demand. Aries works hard to make these meeting rooms better and better so these, in turn, can impact key indicators like turnover, productivity, sales, and safety.

Benefits of modular buildings for government agencies

Temporary or permanent modular construction significantly reduces the costs and time required in the fast-paced world of government agencies or municipal governments. The nature of modular buildings allows them to be customized to suit the specific needs of our customers. Our off-site manufacturing is devoid of the typical on-site delays in building development such as hazardous weather, which results in a predictable on-time delivery date for rigorous government projects. Our units have also been proven to be as durable as traditionally-built construction and is designed to withstand heavy, daily use.

GROUND LEVEL OFFICES FOR RENT / SALE

Modular buildings can be used by governments in the following areas:

  • Federal government
  • EMS
  • State government
  • Emergency management
  • Local government
  • Parks and recreation
  • Military
  • DOT
  • Police and fire departments
  • Corrections
  • Education

Disaster relief

The role of modular buildings for disaster relief efforts is a large one. Immediate solutions are what is needed, and portable buildings are a quick answer to the call for help. It’s important to remember that modular building companies aren’t always able to provide the “full scope” of services like Aries Buildings is capable of providing. Besides having the ability to finance, develop, design, and manufacture modular buildings, Aries offers every option possible in the face of emergency housing or building needs. We can also provide emergency assistance on a larger scale, e.g., delivering a structure to serve as a temporary schoolhouse or medical facility.

Our buildings can be used for the following disaster relief applications:

  • Storage containers for weather-tight, safe and secure storage of emergency equipment and supplies

Military

The inherent quality of project customization associated with modular building makes Aries Buildings the ideal choice for the ever-changing needs of military agencies. Buying or Renting Portable Classrooms

2025-04-01T16:24:12+00:00

A bright blue truck transporting a grey pre-built modular building with maroon trim.

Every Fall, students across the United States enroll in public schools. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in Fall 2023, over 49 million students were projected to attend public schools in grades K-12. While the number of public students has decreased from previous years, the issue of overcrowding has remained. 60 percent of fourth-grade students and 66 percent of eighth-grade students were learning in overcrowded classrooms, according to the National School Boards Association. Teachers of these students also reported having inadequate workspace for their students to learn and collaborate. These conditions negatively impact the education of students.

While newer campus developments are built to remove this obstacle from the beginning, older campuses can rent temporary modular spaces to accommodate their fluctuating student populations and their lack of workspace. Installing portable classrooms is a simple solution to fix overcrowding while permanent buildings are being constructed.

Another problem many schools face is a stagnant budget as costs increase. Aries Building Systems provides affordable portable classrooms for rent, or to buy, to help school administrators tackle this problem head-on. With our temporary classrooms, administrators can better allocate their funds to find more permanent solutions to their overcrowded classrooms. Here are some questions to ask about getting a portable classroom for rent from Aries Building Systems:

Are Portable Classrooms Customizable?

Whether you rent a portable classroom or have one permanently installed, our modular buildings are customizable to suit each school’s needs. They can come equipped with restrooms and fire alarms. We can also connect them to water, sewer, and power utilities upon delivery. As nationwide suppliers, we are well-experienced in meeting the state and national code requirements for all of our buildings.

Modular buildings from Aries be customized to match your school’s interior and exterior designs. For the exterior design, you can choose between brick, masonry stucco, R-panels, or galvanized metal siding for the walls, and metal sheets or cedar planking for roofing. For the interior design, we can install kinetic carpeting, tape/textured walls, elevated ceilings, accent walls, and custom cabinetry. Even the entryways and windows can be customized.

At Aries Building Systems, we offer more than portable classrooms for rent. Our other modular education buildings include:

  • Mobile administrative offices
  • Restroom Facilities
  • Mobile locker rooms
  • Science labs
  • Libraries
  • Pre-schools
  • Assembly buildings
  • Modular cafeterias

This photo depicts a multi-pack modular campus, which is made of several portable classrooms. The result is a totally indoor and more secure option than your standard standalone portable.

How Much Does It Cost to Buy or Rent Portable Classrooms?

Our standard portable classrooms come in five floorplan options: 2-pack, 4-pack, 6-pack, 8-pack, and 10-pack classrooms. These floorplans accommodate different classroom sizes and can be customized or turnkey. Square footage ranges from under 2,000 sq ft to over 4,000 sq ft. The cost to buy or rent a portable classroom varies by the floorplan and customizations you choose. Request a Quote for more information about the classroom you need!

Should You Rent or Buy?

Purchasing a modular building may be the best choice if you plan on using the building for several years. Buying the building for permanent installation may save you on costs in the long term. Renting for many years in a row can eventually end up costing you more money than buying the building at the start. However, renting is often the better option for many school districts, especially those that have plans to add permanent structures soon. Fortunately, Aries Building Systems provides various financing options for modular buildings, including operating leases, finance leases (lease-to-own), short-term financing, or long-term financing programs.

What Causes Costs to Vary?

Costs vary depending on floorplans, exterior and interior designs, and amenities. Our financing programs are tailored to account for these variables.

Should I Buy a Used Portable Classroom?

At Aries Building Systems, we offer used portable classrooms to purchase. These types of units are a good choice for schools with low budgets. We only provide classrooms that are in great condition and can offer similar benefits as new classrooms. We highly encourage asking about our in-stock used portable classrooms before completing a purchase or rental agreement. Schools often have a narrow window to complete construction with limited disruption; installing a pre-existing modular unit can meet their budget and construction timeline requirements.

Are Modular Buildings Safe?

Portable classrooms must adhere to stringent building codes and regulations. Our modular buildings are always up to code to meet these regulations, so you never have to worry about the quality and safety of the buildings you get from us. During times of crisis or natural disaster, modular classrooms are often safer than permanent buildings because of their ability to control the environment and the easier methods of entry/exit for students and faculty.

Aries Building Systems offers a multitude of education building solutions for school districts – from temporary portable classrooms to permanent, multi-unit campuses. With Aries, you can bring your temporary educational facility to the next level of innovation. Our award-winning team of experienced professionals will design floor plans and structural accommodations that meet all of your education needs. Take a look at our inventory to get started.

6 Reasons Portable Buildings Keep Construction Projects On-Time

    2024-10-16T14:46:13+00:00

A close up of a white and black street sign in the form of an arrow pointing left in front of a blue sky with a puffy white cloud and with the word “Construction” printed in black letters.

Far from being in opposition to traditional construction, portable buildings generate benefits for improving, accelerating, and simplifying traditional construction projects. Whether they are used as planning centers or integrated into the traditional construction project, portable buildings are uniquely positioned to be a linchpin in the complex, project- driven, time-sensitive construction industry.

The following list highlights six of the most common benefits offered by utilizing portable buildings in construction:

    1) Portable Buildings, a Bulwark Against Inefficiency

A large, yellow boom truck with a man-basket sits idly amidst the frame of a large metallic building backed by a blue sky with wispy white clouds and another boom truck can be seen in the construction site along with a pile of dirt, a few trees, and a man in a grey shirt.

Many construction sites completely forego or underuse portable offices. Portable modular offices are trailers customized as offices that have one or several work areas. Although solving construction site inefficiency requires multidimensional analyses, on-site offices offer one straightforward way to increase managerial presence on a jobsite and reduce worker frustrations.

First, statistics that illustrate the importance of managerial presence:

    • “25 to 50 percent waste in coordinating labor and in managing, moving, and installing materials.” (Modular Building Institute)
    • “Further studies show that somewhere between 50% and 68% percent of [construction] workers’ time is wasted.” (CCIM Institute)
    • “Construction holds the dubious honor of having the lowest productivity gains of any industry […] In America, astonishingly, [productivity] has plunged by half since the late 1960s.” (The Economist)
    • Trust “has been determined by many studies as an excellent determinant to successful projects”.
    • According to the Project Management Institute, the most common source of worker frustrations is:
      • ‘Can’t find anybody for an answer.’
      • ‘Your problems are always urgent — holding up crews for an answer.’
      • ‘Crews become frustrated as they wait for information.’”
      • ‘Somebody should catch interferences. Less supervision would be required if engineers preparing blueprints would conduct constructability reviews and communicate directly with the people doing construction.’

Although many factors contribute to these statistics, one clear-cut solution lies in considering on-site-offices, an indispensable part of construction projects. Engineers, contractors, clients, workers, surveyors, and overseers benefit from having a central hub where they can meet in an ample, climate-controlled environment with direct contact at the project site.

    2) Portable Buildings Match Construction Timelines

Some construction companies acquire a fleet of relocatable offices that can be moved around from project to project. Others prefer leasing options that allow them to use modular offices for a short period of time before returning them.

A completely white jigsaw puzzle with the missing piece laying right beside the corresponding hole, with a natural wood table showing through empty puzzle space.

In the ever-changing landscape of construction, companies appreciate that relocatable office contracts conform themselves to the demands of the project. For short term products, companies can lease an office and have it installed and ready in as little as 24 hours.

“We set it all up, and when they are done with the job, we come pick it up, get it out of the way and move on to another site,” says Richard Stephens, a veteran of the industry.

For longer term projects or to tackle a series of projects, companies can lease long- term or purchase offices that they take with them wherever the incoming projects require them.

    3) Speed, Safety, and Minimal On-site Disturbance

As with all modular buildings, portable construction offices require very little manpower to set up. Some trailers can be set-up in as little as 24 hours and are assembled on-site without affecting the ongoing construction operation.

The buildings themselves adhere to all construction standards and companies can have the latest engineering equipment and materials in these buildings without sacrificing strength and durability as each module is designed to withstand the force of transportation and on-site assembly.

They can be connected to electrical networks, running water, and sewer to provide operating toilets, artificial lighting, air-conditioning, and showers, among other utilities. They are designed to meet the customer’s space needs. Additionally, construction offices can be equipped with different types of stairs, ramps, windows, shelves, doors, and accessories.

    4) Expanded Portfolios for Urgent Projects

Portable, modular construction has become more versatile than ever.

Fast-food chains, universities, emergency networks, schools, sports teams, and government agencies, just to name a few, have all turned their attention to the advantages offered by portable construction. Hospitals and schools, for example, are environments that require minimal invasive activity during construction and are often on very strict timetables. Modular offices have a low demand for raw materials, low-cost reconfiguration, and offer time savings.

Construction companies use modular building purchased from outside providers as a way to expand their portfolio by creating hybrid projects that place modular buildings alongside traditional construction.

Many clients appreciate when construction companies offer these portable solutions alongside more permanent buildings. For example, the Montgomery County’s school district paid 5 million dollars for portable buildings that would give it flexibility as the school district grew. Many universities have used specialty portable buildings like locker rooms, offices, dorm rooms, modular classrooms, and educational buildings.

Additionally, portable buildings offer standard or customized plans for multiple purposes: construction sites, administration, sales centers, laboratories, field work, training, real estate, warehouses, schools, medical clinics, sanitary, and special purpose premises.

    5) Improved Safety Keeps Projects Moving

Modular offices provide on-site managers a place to keep high-tech equipment, computers, and paperwork. This allows all the relevant workplace material to stay-on site reducing the risk of it being lost or damaged. It also assures that the right tools will be in the hands of the workers on demand.

A white construction hardhat and binder perched on the corner of a wooden railing in front of a closed, grey door with a window, an office hours sign, a lever handle, mail slot, and a deadbolt lock.

    6) Mobile Offices Solve Smartsheet’s 3 Keys to Successful Construction Projects

According to Smartsheet, the top three strategies for successful construction managers are:

    • Creating a flow of communication
    • Making a habit of continuous planning
    • Observing and asking questions

Without a doubt, having an on-site portable office directly addresses each one of these issues. On-site managers in portable offices can offer immediate responses to workplace questions. Smartsheet knows that during construction projects, “even slight adjustments can affect the overall plan and timeline.” This means that continuous on-site planning creates reactive, dynamic projects that don’t get bogged down with unforeseen circumstances. On-site offices provide a comfortable place to negotiate these construction site obstacles.

Finally, observation and asking of questions can reduce errors and safeguard against miscommunications. With an onsite office, companies can be assured that they always have the right person close to the center of the action.

    Conclusion

Nobody has a silver-bullet to solve every construction site obstacle. However, portable offices transform the environment and become a focal point for order and planning. More affordable than ever, readily available, and customizable, modular offices guarantee themselves a place on job sites for years to come.

Modular Buildings Come to the Rescue when Disaster Strikes

    2024-05-02T09:08:19+00:00

Proper preparation: essential for entities involved in disaster relief

A large, multitude of people, some in casual clothing and others in military uniform, circling a dirt pile, use shovels to fill up white bags with the brown, rocky dirt while several pickup trucks parked in the background sit idle and green brush can be seen in the background.

The litany of actors activated during disaster relief creates solutions, but also challenges. Natural disasters force entities from completely different spheres of operation – public vs. private, local vs federal, for-profit vs NGOs – into a single theater.

As hundreds, or sometimes thousands, of relief personnel congregate on the affected area, they themselves can generate increased risk for the local population unless they’ve properly planned their arrival. Take an example from 1998 when clothing donated for the victims of Hurricane Mitch littered the runway in haphazardly placed bales, impeding the landing of further aircraft carrying essential supplies.

It’s in this vacuum of coordination that the modular building industry hopes to make a difference. Although the modular building industry is just one more actor in the disaster relief effort, it can play a disproportionate role in the mitigation of risks and the generation of recovery.

Aries takes its role in saving lives seriously and attempts to become a lubricant for all the moving parts activated during emergencies.

A wide panoramic view of a large, flat plain, brown in the distance, but near is a line of green trees and grass, in front of which are a four-story building and four long rows of modular trailers, white and grey, with wooden stairs at the ends and centers and a dirt parking lot with a handful of parked cars.

    The most vulnerable

The most vulnerable group in a post disaster area are those confined to special care facilities: hospitals, nursing homes, and residences of people with chronic diseases. As stated in a recent study into hurricane relief, “Growing numbers of persons have chronic diseases and use sophisticated pharmaceutical and mechanical support that is dependent on electricity. Chronically ill patients are particularly vulnerable to disruptions in basic utilities, which highlights the need for these patients, their communities, and their providers to have contingency plans during and after disasters”

Aries aids the most vulnerable in two key areas:

    • Relocatable medical facilities

Having worked with relocatable portable buildings during Hurricane Harvey, Aries can work with medical establishments to plan emergency portable buildings, customizable, to be moved on-demand during disasters.

    • Aries Residential Suites

These “homes away from home” can save lives by mitigating some of the most common threats in a post-disaster area. These threats include heat-related deaths and fatalities caused by improper use of electric generators, causing electrocution or carbon monoxide poisoning. In shelters, “some elderly evacuees reportedly won’t drink a sufficient amount of water because they don’t want to use dirty toilets.”¹ In others, the stress levels have been linked with causing heart attacks and strokes.² Finally, in the confined conditions of shelters, epidemics can cause deaths in vulnerable populations.

Portable, air-conditioned, leased domiciles provide families immediate safety from heat-induced dehydration or stroke. Furthermore, Aries residences come equipped with their own electric generators, mitigating the risk of using faulty generators. Nursing homes, in particular, can use portable suites for temporary evacuation or long-term residency during recovery. Residential suites include cafeterias, laundry facilities, recreation centers, and the staff to maintain all of it, including security staff.

    First responders

A small, off-yellow, one story house with a large square window and a screen door, has small green trees rising behind it and calm, light-brown water surrounding it while two men standing with water-proof overalls toss a sandbag to each other over a bright orange row-boat.

Aries can provide housing complexes for first responders to rest during emergency response situations, and also provide portable offices for planning and coordination. These offices, similar to the ones used on construction sites, can supply a level of tranquility and stability to workers on the ground during disaster relief.

The portable office’s, along with portable storage containers, facilitate tasks associated with disaster relief as dictated by the National Response Framework (NRF). Below are just a few of the NRF’s imperatives for which portable offices can be useful:

    • NGO’s must train, manage, and coordinate volunteers and donated goods.
    • Entities must supply physical, visible locations for victims to look for assistance and supplies.
    • Nonprofits should provide health, medical, mental health, and behavioral health resources.
    • Local governments should provide direction for response activities.
    • Emergency directors should coordinate damage assessments during an incident.

    Recovery post-disaster

    Businesses:

Aries offers portable building, portable storage, and mobile office solutions to local businesses so they can address the response needs of employees, infrastructure, and facilities. Additional benefits include protecting information and maintaining the continuity of business operations. They also need to collaborate with emergency management personnel to determine what assistance may be required and how they can provide needed support., For example, they can contribute to communication and information-sharing efforts during incidents.

    Schools:

Normalcy returns to families with the commencement of school activities for their children. Aries offers, and has offered, portable classrooms, modular cafeteria pods, and even modular libraries.

    Communities:

Local communities face an uphill battle after a disaster. Many deaths are associated with residents clearing debris or rebuilding. Contaminated water also impedes some people from accessing safe drinking water and causes illnesses.

Aries offers every option possible in the face of emergency housing or building needs:

    • Design/build engineering
    • In-house manufacturing
    • In-house transportation arm
    • Construction services and general construction
    • Civil work
    • Land development
    • Capital and finance leasing

    Logistics contracting including:

    • Food service and cleaning
    • Security and transportation services
    • Laundry and tailoring services
    • Waste management
    • Vector control
    • Labor support and supply
    • Tailor-made maintenance contracts
    • Power transmission and design including generators
    • Water storage, pumping, and sewer treatment
    • Consulting

As you can see, Aries understands that our industry has a special role to fulfill in disaster relief. Our list of products matches many of the most essential relief and recovery needs in post-disaster communities. We hope to give first responders, government agencies, hospitals, and all involved the same level of confidence we generate in our day-to-day activities.

Modular Mobile Offices: The Ideal Solution for Temporary Space

    2025-03-24T18:13:03+00:00

A long, grey trailer office, two doors and four windows, has two sets of metal stairs leading to the doors and sits connected to a supply of water, a long antenna on top, and an electric generator, all on a sandlot.

Nowadays modular mobile constructions have emerged as highly relevant, promising and high-tech space solutions for multiple applications and purposes. In the specific case of modular mobile offices, they are trailers conditioned as offices that have one or several work areas. They can have connection to electrical networks, artificial lighting, and bathrooms, among other amenities. They are designed to meet the customer’s space needs, while also providing the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and cleaning support required. Additionally, they can be equipped with different types of stairs, ramps, windows, doors, and accessories.

By combining several technologies based on the principles of rapid construction, they are designed for functionality, budget, and quick installation. They are the ideal solution for the temporary space needs of any industry all over the world.

Among the multiple benefits granted by using this type of office, we find:

    • Cost- efficiency: You will guarantee savings derived from the energy use (minimizing the amount of energy used to create a building to meet the new need), low demand for raw materials, low-cost reconfiguration, and time savings.
    • Quality and safety: You can have the latest engineering equipment and materials in these buildings. Structurally, each individual module is designed to withstand the force of transportation and on-site assembly.
    • Practicality: The delivery is fast and easy. And when applying the modular technique, buildings are produced in “modules” that when put together on site, reflect the identical design intent and specifications of the most sophisticated site-built facility (Modular Building Institute).
    • 3R: The structures are easily relocated, recycled, and reused many times. They are also expandable, making them ideal for future growth or remodeling.
    • Flexibility: You can use offices of standard or customized plans and for multiple purposes: construction sites, administration, sales centers, laboratories, field work, training, real estate, warehouses, schools, medical clinics, sanitary and special purpose premises.
    • Work-friendly: Because the modular structure is substantially completed in a factory-controlled setting using dry materials, the potential for high levels of moisture being trapped in the new construction is eliminated (Modular Building Institute).

At Aries, we also offer you additional benefits such as special financing offers, purchase or lease alternatives, unlimited layout options, a variety of floor plans, and immediate delivery, among others. Also, Aries’s mobile offices are designed and built to comply with all applicable codes, standards and regulations… we are really the best choice! And our customers are our best reference.

Modular Mobile Offices: The Ideal Solution for Temporary Space2025-03-24T18:13:03+00:00

Construction Offices – The Many Benefits

      2025-02-07T23:30:09+00:00

On a patchy, grass lawn in front of a covered sidewalk and electrical poles, cinder blocks and wheels hold up a long, rectangular, grey building with offset windows and an attached air-conditioning unit.

Portable offices, a constant keystone in the building of the West

The year is 331 BC, the Persian Empire’s hegemony of the Arabian peninsula and Central Asia is about to come to an end. Alexander the Great contemplates the next day’s battle strategy inside the confines of his portable military tent that has been transported all the way from Egypt for this very occasion. The battle of Gaugamela will decide the destiny of the Greek and Persian empires.

Flash forward to Yorktown, Texas, summer 2018. During August, the average temperature hovers around 95° Fahrenheit. James Rath is a project manager tasked with constructing the brand new building complex that will become Yorktown High School.

The comparison between the great battle of Gaugamela and the building of a modern high school seems drastic… but they actually have a lot in common. The comparison can resonate with modern construction companies. They have erected sky-scrapers, schools, businesses, and homes in extreme weather conditions and under stringent deadlines in an industry with one of the highest injury and fatality rates. And like Alexander, James Rath’s building of Yorktown High faces daunting challenges.

A plague of inefficiency clogs many construction sites manifesting as a “25 to 50 percent waste in coordinating labor and in managing, moving, and installing materials” (Modular Building Institute). Further studies show that somewhere between 50% and 68% percent of [construction] workers’ time is wasted (CCIM). In addition, construction holds the dubious honor of having the lowest productivity gains of any industry in America, astonishingly, [productivity] has plunged by half since the late 1960s (The Economist).

Calm blue water meets land where a large yellow excavator and bulldozer pile up dirt and boulders as two brightly vested workers overlook the work, and three metal columns rise in the background behind neatly stacked concrete blocks framed by a yellow tinted sky with nebulous clouds.

These challenges lead most construction companies to seek portable offices while coordinating their builds. Installing an on-site office and perching it with a birds-eye view of the construction site can go a long way.

In the case of Yorktown High School, they contacted Aries and quickly had a 12×48 construction office installed on-site.

Today, as in Alexander’s time, on-site offices set the foundation for successful execution of projects.

On-site & modular offices as construction offices

Construction companies represent a dominant segment in the use of mobile offices. Construction sites, by nature, are temporary, yet often require a large on-site work space for engineers, contractors, clients, workers, surveyors, and overseers.

Modern portable office providers transform their offices to meet client needs. The builder of Yorktown High School needed assurance of climate control during the simmering Texas summer. Other construction companies lean towards compartmentalized space or noise control, depending on their particular needs.

Deadlines and on-demand portable construction offices

All construction companies have one thing in common: deadlines.

When they call for a portable construction office, they need things to be on time, with follow-through, and availability.

“We try to take away all surprises,” says Richard Stephens, a veteran in the portable office industry. The block-levels can be in place and a construction office can be tied down in as little as 24 hours. Extra time might be needed because we need a clear and level site, some places are tough to get to. If you are downtown, you might need a special permit,” says Richard.

In addition, customization might add 2-4 weeks for delivery time. It can also depend on how quickly the client accesses an electrician and plumber to outfit their new office.

Overall, though, a 12’ x 48’ or 12’ x 60 ́ mobile office can be properly processed, scheduled, and put in place in an average of 4-6 business days. That’s quite attractive to companies who need their construction offices in time to meet stringent deadlines.

On a sand-lot, cinder blocks and wheels hold up a long, rectangular, grey building with offset windows that overlooks a construction site with machines visible in the background.

Leasing for portable, on-site construction offices

Construction companies typically use portable offices at the site while they build a permanent building.

“We set it all up, and when they are done with the job we come pick it up, get it out of the way and move on to another site,” says Richard Stephens.

In this way, workers building the SOCO apartment complex in Austin, Texas benefited from a mobile office while building apartment complexes.

However, for this model of business to be convenient, the financial element must synchronize with the physical element. Construction companies may use temporary offices from just a few months to several years, and companies want flexibility with their payments that will match the flexibility of their modular offices. For this reason, the modular office industry increasingly offers leasing contracts. This allows construction companies to align their physical and budgetary timeline for their projects.

A close up of a crouched construction worker in a blue shirt and faded yellow helmet alongside a standing coworker in a bright orange vest and yellow helmet as they work on an iron-bar frame in front of a thick, undulating concrete wall that fills the background.

Portable buildings as a solution to inefficiency

On-site offices can provide a space for organizing, planning, meeting, and delegating. Although the causes for construction industry inefficiency are varied, portable offices offer a launching point for solving these issues. With affordable and dependable service, modular office providers hope to provide the builders of the West a space to plan their battles.

Modular Buildings: From Temporary to Permanent with Ease

        2024-11-13T19:21:38+00:00

A set of three images horizontally oriented. First one is a rectangular, wooden modular building with ramp and a long rectangular covered porch edged by a chest-high, wooden railing standing on a gravel foundation on a sunny day as pine trees appear in the background. Second, the Aries Ram’s head logo inside of a red circle underneath the text “Modular Building Institute.” And finally, the inside of an empty modular building with three columns where a dozen long rectangular desks on wheels with attached foldable benches are lit by interior lighting and sunlight filtering through multiple rectangular windows.

A modular, temporary building success story

The students had left for the day and the evening sun wasted its waning intensity on the mostly emptied teacher workroom. The principal took off his tie and threw it haphazardly across one of the rectangular work desks. His eyes became intensely focused. “Why can’t we get classrooms delivered?” he asked himself.

Like in many other countries, his student base had grown exponentially. His classrooms now held 35 students each and if he added even one more student to the classrooms he’d have a teacher riot on his hands. Although he had money for more teachers, there was no place to put them. The district had plans for a new 3,000 student capacity school, but ground wouldn’t be broken on the new project until next year. For now, his school would have to find a way to deal with the space constraints.

In entered Aries. In short time, there would be a small army of 414 portable classrooms rotating around Montgomery County’s school district. One school was able to operate with 500 more students than the infrastructure’s capacity. Summit Hall School added 240 students over its infrastructure capacity. Eventually, these students moved to permanent facilities, but until then, the district continued to outfit schools with pre-manufactured classrooms.

By ordering prefabricated buildings, the students’ education wasn’t interrupted by constant construction noise as the building went up in half the time of a regular on-site structure. Besides the fact that temporary buildings could be built fast, it was assured that the school could meet capacity demands by the new school year.

The parents’ concerns over safety were quickly dispelled by the quality and longevity of the materials – in some cases the material of the temporary building proved stronger than that of the permanent buildings.

The district had solved their problem. Classrooms could be custom built and, best of all, shipped on demand to the location of the need. For the first time, the school had truly versatile, temporary classrooms constructed with high-quality building materials     .

Black chairs with stylish back supports are neatly tucked in under rectangular desks facing the forward wall of a whitewashed square room purposed towards education as light filters through three square windows.

The future of modular, temporary buildings: schools, hospitals, government and business offices

As the Montgomery School case study shows, modular buildings offer solutions for cost, time to occupancy, and site disruption. It’s an essential tool in the toolbox of any large enterprise intent on rapid growth or for increasing the capacity for flexible, instantaneous reactions to any circumstance.

Every company has bottlenecks, but for the first time, infrastructure doesn’t have to be the intimidating obstacle that defies creativity in the search for institutional capacity. You can now increase capacity with temporary to permanent offices.

Modular, temporary building has attracted interest from many sectors including those looking at how to handle the immigration crisis, companies conducting R&D in remote locations, entrepreneurial start-ups, hospitals, the military, government services (GSA approved), and corporations moving their offices to new towns. The adaptability of modular buildings to meet sound, temperature, lighting, and sanitation requirements creates a huge demand for these specialized buildings.

Among some of the uses of modular buildings are:

        • Hospitals use specialized modular building that meet stringent health requirements to continue patient treatment as hospitals get technological and infrastructure makeovers.
        • Governments, the largest service provider in the country, use temporary to permanent buildings for handling unexpected movements in staff or service population (e.g. disaster relief, management of growing populations, movement of military installations).
        • Start-ups benefit with temporary building though the low-investment that generates saving on rent and provides a foundation for continued growth.
        • Corporations can move essential components of a business to a new town and begin to solidify their presence before the final and complete establishment of their business.

A close up of the hands and arms of a doctor wearing a white coat who types on a thin laptop placed beside a stethoscope, clipboard, and a pen, as bright sunlight obscures the background.

If you can dream it, Aries can build it! An investment in temporary building leads to expanding a company’s potential as it becomes unfettered from time- consuming infrastructure constraints. Suddenly, building space becomes reactive and sensitive to company needs making modular building the new “ace” up institutions’ sleeves.
